The proposed cleaning and expanding of the former channel. to Mud Lake.

I have been at this lake most all my life, and I can remember when Roland Manning and I, tried to get a row boat through a small channel  at the north end of little pine island lake in and attempt to get to Mud lake, we never made it, stopped by a tree. I spoke with Ted Mosies and he says, in his trapping days he can remember making it through to Mud lake in a canoe. I have to believe him, because we went quite a ways with a big ole row boat,  plus the lake level varies quite a bit.

I briefly went over this idea with the owner of the property where the former channel is located. His first impression was the he is not in favor of the idea, he said that they like their privacy on Mud Lake. I certainly under stand that, in that I'm glad Little Pine Island Lake does not have a public access.

I told him their are DNR grant programs that this may fit into. Inclosing he agreed he was open to look ideas. He said, "you never know, if an idea looks good and makes sense, things could change"

more to come.
